It is quite difficult to remember a large number of passwords. Even if you remember them, you may insert the wrong password for a certain account. If you want to write down your passwords somewhere, you can use PassKeeper to build a database with log in information for any number of accounts. The application is simple and it does not slow you down with complex features.

When downloading PassKeeper, you can opt for a standard installation file or a self extracting archive. The software can be installed on any Windows platform, from Win 95 to Win 7. Moreover, the application is absolutely free for personal or commercial use.

The application's interface is very compact and it does not contain too many options. All you have to do is type or paste your account's name, your user ID and password and the site's URL in the appropriate input fields. When you hit the Save option, the account's name will appear in a list, on the same window. Selecting an account's name will display the log in information in the same input fields.

In addition to saving passwords, the application makes it easier to sign into your accounts. While a listed account is selected, you may click its address and thus bring it up on your default web browser. Furthermore, you may click different Copy options, next to the user ID and password input fields, and copy these items to the clipboard.

Pros

You can save your log in credentials for any number of accounts. The procedure does not involve anything else than typing the information and clicking a Save option. The application can launch a web site right away and it allows you to copy your usernames and passwords to the clipboard.

Cons

The application is not password protected. If you have difficulties remembering your user IDs and passwords, PassKeeper will help you remember them.
